Crianza 1999

The interpretation of Pago

A wine that is the truest reflection of its origin.

  • Varieties: tinto fino (75%) and cabernet sauvignon (25%).
  • Alcoholic by volume: 13.5%.
  • Soils: limestone texture with red clays and white loams. Low granulometry and high water retention.
  • Altitude: around 850 meters.
  • Harvest: manual, in 15 kg cases.

Elaboration:

  • Aging: 12 months in American and French oak barrels.
  • Clarified with natural egg white.
  • Bottled in May 2001.

Sensory tasting:

  • Color: High robe and good cherry red color with some violet highlights that will disappear as the wine ages.
  • Aromas: Fruit and vanilla well combined with toasted notes and a hint of cassis.
  • Palate: The attack is somewhat mature, becoming in mid-palate glyceric, full flavored and persistent.
“Crianza is the truest reflection of Pago de Carraovejas. A wine that became a myth”.
