Crianza 2002

The interpretation of Pago

A wine that is the truest reflection of its origin.

  • Varieties: tinto fino (85%) and cabernet sauvignon (15%).
  • Alcoholic by volume: 15%.
  • Soils: limestone texture with red clays and white loams. Low granulometry and high water retention.
  • Altitude: around 850 meters.
  • Harvest: manual, in boxes 13.5 kg.

Elaboration:

  • Ageing: 12 months in New and semi-new French and American oak barrels.
  • Clarified with natural egg whites.
  • Bottled: May 2004.

Sensory tasting:

  • Color: Cherry red with purple highlights and high robe. Cleanly brilliant with very attractive hues.
  • Aromas: High aromatic intensity. Ripe fruit very well integrated with the toasted notes contributed by the wood and assembled with harmonious elegance.
  • Palate: Smooth attackglyceric, meaty, enveloping. Long aftertaste and lingering retronasal effect reminiscent of delicate spice notes..
“Crianza is the most faithful reflection of Pago de Carraovejas. A wine that became a myth”.
