Crianza 1991

The interpretation of Pago

A wine that is the truest reflection of its origin.

  • Varieties: tinto fino and cabernet sauvignon.
  • Alcohol by volume: 13%
  • Soils: limestone texture with red clays and white loams. Low granulometry and high water retention.
  • Altitude: around 850 metros.
  • Harvest: manual, inboxes 15 kg

Our wine is made with Tinta del País and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fermented with a long maceration period at moderate temperatures. After blending the varietal wines the coupage rested eight months in Bordeaux type French and American oak barrels. In the spring it was clarified with natural egg whites and bottled in June of 1993.

The last selection comprises 13,600 Bordeaux type bottles and 130 magnum sized bottles.

“Crianza is the most faithful reflection of Pago de Carraovejas. A wine that became a myth”.
