Crianza 2001

The interpretation of Pago

A wine that is the truest reflection of its origin.

  • Varieties: tinto fino (75%) and cabernet sauvignon (25%).
  • Alcoholic by volume: 13.5%.
  • Soils: limestone texture with red clays and white loams. Low granulometry and high water retention.
  • Altitude: around 850 meters.
  • Harvest: manual, in boxes 15 kg

Elaboration:

  • Ageing: 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
  • Clarified with natural egg whites.
  • Bottled: May 2003.

Sensory tasting:

  • Color: Intense de cherry red. Very high robe.
  • Aromas: Very ripe fruit well meshed with oak and vanilla. Toasted notes reminiscent of cherry, tobacco and black currant.
  • Palate:Round, potent and full flavored. Well structured with the ripe fruit combine harmoniously with the vanilla-like flavors derived from the oak ageing.
“Crianza is the most faithful reflection of Pago de Carraovejas. A wine that became a myth”.
