Crianza 2000

The interpretation of Pago

A wine that is the truest reflection of its origin.

  • Varieties: tinto fino (75%) and cabernet sauvignon (25%).
  • Alcoholic by volume: 13.5%.
  • Soils: limestone texture with red clays and white loams. Low granulometry and high water retention.
  • Altitude: around 850 meters.
  • Harvest: manual, in boxes 15 kg.

Elaboration:

  • Ageing: 12 months in New and semi-new French and American oak barrels.
  • Clarified with natural egg whites.
  • Bottled: May 2002.

Sensory tasting:

  • Color: Very high robe and good cherry red color with some violet highlights that gradually turn into baked red clay.
  • Aromas: Fruit and vanilla very well combined, con toasted notes and hints of cassis, slightly balsamic.
  • Palate: The first smooth and full flavored taste becomes in mid-palate glyceric, meaty y persistent.
“Crianza is the most faithful reflection of Pago de Carraovejas. A wine that became a myth”.
