The interpretation of Pago

A wine that is the truest reflection of its origin.

  • Varieties: tinto fino (75%) and cabernet sauvignon (25%).
  • Alcohol by volume: 13,5%
  • Soils: limestone texture with red clays and white loams. Low granulometry and high water retention.
  • Altitude: around 850 meters.
  • Harvest: manual, in boxes 15 kg

  • Ageing: 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
  • Clarified with natural egg whites.
  • Bottled: July 1999.

Sensory tasting:

  • Color: Intense color, cherry red shaded in violet.
  • Aromas: Complex in the nose with aromas of wild berries, toasted notes and liquorice.
  • Mouth: Intense sensorial impressions. Full flavored and glyceric, with the marked character imparted by well matured tannins.
“Crianza is the most faithful reflection of Pago de Carraovejas. A wine that became a myth”.
